Berean Standard Bible (BSB) on iPad

Works offline

The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) is a modern translation that strikes a balance between word-for-word accuracy and thought-for-thought readability. Named after the Bereans in Acts 17:11 who 'examined the Scriptures daily,' the BSB is designed for careful study while remaining accessible to everyday readers. It uses the best available Hebrew and Greek manuscripts and employs transparent translation methods. In Digible, the BSB is built in and works offline — journal, highlight, and annotate every page with Apple Pencil on your iPad. The BSB's clarity makes it particularly well-suited for digital Bible journaling.

History of the Berean Standard Bible

The Berean Standard Bible was developed by the Bible Hub team and first published in 2016. It was created to provide a modern, accurate, and freely available translation for study purposes. The BSB draws on the Berean Literal Bible for its base text, then adjusts phrasing for natural English readability while maintaining fidelity to the original languages. It continues to be refined and updated.

Reading the BSB in Digible

In Digible, the BSB is available stored on your device and readable offline, with journaling, highlighting and annotation. Use Apple Pencil to write directly on Scripture, highlight key passages, and draw illustrations — all on your iPad.

Free to download with a limited preview: five chapters and three journal pages, then Digible Pro, a monthly or annual subscription, for continued reading and journaling. The preview is not a subscription trial. Digible Pro covers every translation, and none is sold separately.
