History of the World English Bible

The World English Bible project began in 1997 as an effort to create a modern, accurate, public domain Bible translation. It is based on the 1901 American Standard Version and uses the best available Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. The translation was completed in 2020 and is maintained by volunteers committed to making God's Word freely accessible to everyone.
