How to use Digible on an Android tablet
By Feran, Founder of DigibleUpdated 13 October 2026
Write on the Bible page with a stylus or your finger, add stickers, shapes, text and photos. Words in bold are what you will see in the app. Each heading links to its own steps, so you can share the exact one.

Getting started
Find your way around
- Four tabs sit at the bottom: Home, Journals, Notes and Paths. They need Digible 1.17.2 or later, which Google Play is sending out in stages.
- Until 1.17.2 reaches you, you'll see Home only. Your Bibles, your Paths and your most recent pages and notes (under Recents) are all there, and everything you make is kept.
- Your profile and settings (You) open from your photo at the top right of Home.
Open a Bible
On Home, tap a Bible to open it.
Move between chapters and books
- Tap the book and chapter at the top (for example John 3).
- In Choose a book, tap a book, then tap a chapter.
You can also swipe with one finger to turn the chapter when Finger drawing is off. A stylus never turns the page.
Add another Bible
Each Bible has its own name, cover and translation, so you can keep one for study and one for journaling.
- On Home, scroll your Bibles to the end and tap Add New Bible.
- Type a name, tap Translation to pick a translation, and choose a Cover.
- Tap Add Bible.
What's free and what needs Pro
Digible is free to download with a limited preview. New readers can try five unique chapters and three journal pages before subscribing to Digible Pro for continued reading and journaling. Phone highlights and study Paths have their own limits.
If something you tap opens the subscription screen, you've reached the preview. Anything you've already made stays yours to open and edit.
Writing and drawing
Write on the page
Open a Bible and write anywhere on the page with your stylus, such as the S Pen. No stylus? Turn on Finger drawing.
The tool bar
- A floating tool bar holds Pen, Fineliner, Fountain, Pencil, Calligraphy, Brush, Marker and Highlighter, then the eraser, the lasso and the ruler.
- Tap + in the top bar to add a Photo, Sticker, Text or Shape.
- The ⋮ button at the end of the tool bar holds Clear page, Finger drawing and Collapse toolbar.
Change pen colour and size
- Tap a pen to use it.
- Tap it again, or tap the round colour swatch, for its colours and Width.
- For any other colour, tap Custom and pick it with the sliders or type a colour code.
A fairly straight stroke with the Highlighter snaps into a neat, level bar.
Erase
Tap the eraser (after the Highlighter on the tool bar), then tap it again for its options:
- Stroke removes whole strokes. Pixel rubs ink away where you touch.
- Size sets how big the eraser is.
- Scribble to erase lets you scribble over writing to delete it. It's off until you turn it on under ⋮ at the top right of a Bible page.
- The eraser leaves stickers, photos and text alone. To remove one of those, see Move, resize or delete.
Undo and redo
Tap the Undo or Redo arrow at the top left of a Bible page or note. They're faded when there's nothing to undo.
Select and move with the lasso
- Tap the lasso in the tool bar (after the eraser).
- Draw a loop around your writing.
- Drag inside the dashed box to move it. Tap inside the box for Duplicate and Delete.
The lasso picks up writing only. To move a sticker, photo, shape or text, see Move, resize or delete.
Draw straight lines
Tap the ruler at the end of the tool bar. While it's on, every stroke you draw becomes a straight line. Tap it again to turn it off.
Snap shapes also helps: draw a line, circle or box and hold your pen still at the end, and it turns into a clean shape. It's on unless you turn it off under ⋮ at the top right of a Bible page.
Write with your finger
- Open a Bible chapter.
- Tap ⋮ at the end of the tool bar.
- Turn on Finger drawing.
Type on a page
Tap + in the top bar, then Text, then type. To edit text that's already there, tap it once to select it, then tap it again.
Add more pages to a chapter
- To add a page, tap Add a page (two squares with a plus), just left of + in the top bar. A chapter can have up to 10 pages.
- Once a chapter has two or more pages, a counter such as 2/3 appears beside it. Tap the counter to go to the next page.
- To delete a page, press and hold the page's card (under Recents on Home, or in Journals), tap Delete, then confirm.
Adding things to a page
Add a verse to a note
On a tablet, verses go into notes.
- In a note, tap the verse button, third on the tool bar after sticker and text. Insert verse opens.
- Choose the translation, book and chapter.
- Tap a verse, then tap a later verse to take in several.
- Tap Insert.
Tap a verse box to switch between Text mode and Card mode, change its Card style, Change verse or Delete it.
Drag a verse onto a page
In a note, you can drag verses from a Bible reader beside the page.
- In a note, tap Bible reader (an open book) at the top. Tap it again to open the reader beside the page.
- Press and hold a verse, then drag it onto your note.
Add stickers
- On a Bible page, tap +, then Sticker. In a note, tap the sticker button, first on the tool bar.
- Pick a category, or Recents for stickers you've used.
- Tap stickers to add them, then tap Done.
Want more? We have free stickers to download.
Add shapes
- Tap + in the top bar, then Shape.
- Pick a shape from Add a shape.
You can also draw a shape by hand and hold your pen still at the end to snap it neat (see Draw straight lines).
Add photos
On a Bible page, tap +, then Photo. In a note, tap the photo button, fifth on the tool bar. Then choose a photo.
Move, resize or delete what you've added
- Tap a sticker, photo, shape or text to select it. Drag it to move it.
- Drag a corner handle (or pinch) to resize it. Photos and shapes have a round knob to rotate them.
- The bar that appears has Copy, Cut, Duplicate, Bring to front, Send to back, Lock and Delete.
To paste, press and hold an empty spot on the page and tap Paste.
Verses and Bibles
Highlight a verse
On a tablet you highlight with the Highlighter pen, right on the page. Pick it in the tool bar and draw over the words.
Compare two translations
- On a Bible page, tap Compare translations (a book) at the top right. A second Bible opens in a floating panel.
- Tap the translation name on the panel to change it. Use the arrows or tap the passage between them to go somewhere else.
- Drag the panel to move it and its corner to resize it.
- Tap the X on the panel, or the book icon again, to close it.
Read another translation
Each Bible keeps the translation it was made with. To read another translation, add a Bible in that translation:
- On Home, scroll your Bibles to the end and tap Add New Bible.
- Tap Translation. Search by name, or narrow the list by language.
- Pick one and tap Add Bible.
Translations that need downloading download when you add the Bible, so stay online until it's ready. If it fails, tap the button again to retry.
Set your preferred translation
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then under Reading tap Preferred translation. It's used when you look up verses in notes. Each Bible keeps its own translation.
Customise a Bible: paper, ink and type
- On Home, press and hold a Bible and tap Customize. Or, inside the Bible, tap ⋮ at the top right, then Aa — Reading style.
- Choose a look under Themes, or set the Type, Page (paper) and Text (ink colour, accent and red letters) yourself.
On a tablet, Page also has ruled or dotted lines and text position. Your journal pages are kept when the layout changes.
To change the cover or name, see Rename a Bible or change its cover.
Rename a Bible or change its cover
- On Home, press and hold the Bible and tap Edit.
- Change the name or the cover in Edit Bible.
- Tap Save.
Delete a Bible
On Home, press and hold the Bible, tap Delete, then Delete again. The Bible leaves your shelf, and your journal pages are kept.
Notes and folders
Make a note
- Open the Notes tab (Digible 1.17.2 or later).
- Tap +, then New Note.
You get a blank drawing page. Its tool bar starts with sticker, text, verse, shape and photo buttons. Paper style (ruled, grid, dot or blank) is under ⋮ at the top right.
Rename or delete a page or note
Press and hold a page or note card (under Recents on Home, in Journals or in Notes) for Rename and Delete. Inside a note, ⋮ at the top right has Rename and Delete Note.
Organise with folders
- To make a folder, tap + in Journals or Notes and choose New Folder.
- To put a page in a folder, press and hold its card and tap Move to Folder, or inside the page tap ⋮ at the top right, then Move to folder. Choosing New Folder there makes a folder and files the page in one step.
- To rename or recolour a folder, press and hold it, tap Edit, then Done.
- Deleting a folder keeps everything that was in it.
Paths
Make a Path
A Path is a study plan of a few days, made around what you want to explore.
- Open the Paths tab (Digible 1.17.2 or later) and tap New Path.
- Under What would you like to explore?, write a feeling, a topic or a passage.
- Under How many days?, pick 3, 7 or 14.
- Tap Create my Path, then Start this Path.
Follow a Path day by day
- Open a Path from Home or the Paths tab.
- Tap Continue Day 1 (or the day you're on).
The day's chapter opens with a small card showing the passage and a reflection to write about. When you're done, tap Mark Day 1 Complete on the card.
Delete a Path
Open the Path, tap ⋮ at the top right, then Delete Path and Delete. This removes its days and reflections from every device.
Account and subscription
Sign in and sync your devices
Sign in with the same account on each device and everything you make syncs by itself. There's nothing to turn on.
- On Android you can Sign in with Google or Continue with email.
Each device lists what it can edit: tablets list handwritten pages and notes, phones list highlights and typed notes. If something is missing on one device, it's on your other one.
Sign out
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then tap Sign out under Account.
Restore your purchase
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then tap Restore purchases under App. Make sure Google Play is signed in to the Google account you paid with.
Change or cancel your subscription
- Open the Google Play subscriptions page on your device.
- Tap Digible, then Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Uninstalling Digible doesn't cancel it. Google's steps.
Ask for a refund
Google handles payments made through Google Play, so refunds are requested from Google: on Google Play, open your profile picture, Payments & subscriptions, Budget & order history, then Report a problem on the Digible order. Google's steps.
Daily reminders
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then tap Daily reminder under Reading to set the time. To turn reminders off, use your device's notification settings for Digible.
App language and dark mode
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You. Under Reading, App Language changes the language (Android 13 or later) and Appearance chooses System, Light or Dark.
Delete your account
- On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You.
- Under Account, tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deleted 14 days later. If you sign in again before then, it's kept. Guest accounts are deleted straight away. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel it first. More on our delete account page.
Troubleshooting
Update Digible
Many fixes arrive in updates. Open Google Play, search for Digible and tap Update if you see it. Google Play sends new versions out in stages, so yours may arrive a few days after someone else's.
Find your app version
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then scroll to the bottom. It reads, for example, Digible v1.17.1.
Something is missing on another device
- Check you're signed in to the same account on both devices.
- Tablets list handwritten pages and notes. Phones list highlights and typed notes. Nothing is deleted: what you made on a tablet is still there on the tablet, and the other way round.
- Handwriting made on an iPad isn't shown on Android, and Android handwriting isn't shown on iPad.
Report a bug
On Home, tap your photo at the top right to open You, then tap Report a bug under App. Say what happened, then tap Send. If you're browsing as a guest, add your email in the message or use our contact page so we can reply.
